History of Reiki

:. Originated in Tibet 2500 years ago used by Tibetan monks. It was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1880's. The technique was handed down to Dr. Chijuro Hayashi. Traditional Usui Method of Natural Healing known as Reiki continues to be passed from master to student.

What is Reiki?

:. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which helps to promote healing in all aspects of the body. It is a holistic technique, recognizing the union of mind, body, and spirit.

Reiki is a complementary healing practice that uses spiritual energies of a Reiki master or healer to treat various kinds of conditions and symptoms. The practice has found adherents all over the world who praise its benefits and lack of side effects.

:. The original name(s) attributed to Reiki by Mikao Usui. When Usui achieved Satori (enlightenment) on Kurama Yama, he developed a system of wellness and spiritual growth, which he called Usui Reiki Ryoho, Reiki Ryoho or Reiho - for short.

:. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

:. Is Reiki a dogma or religion?

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma attached to it and there is nothing you must believe in order to receive the healing energies.

Reiki is not dependent on any belief system and will work whether you believe or not. Because Reiki Energies come from the Creator - highest Universal vibrations - many people find Reiki puts them deeper in touch with the experience(s) of their own awakenings / essences.
